I Won’t Go is a story of taking the leap. It’s that moment when things get vulnerable, and scary, because you decide to commit to the other person, trying to trust that you won’t get hurt.

This is the most high-energy driving pop-rock song Mark has ever released.

What’s also interesting is this song is the first time Mark has completed nearly the entire production as a solo endeavor.

From the writing, to singing, performing all of the instruments, producing, mixing, and even mastering, Mark has been studying all of these different jobs for many years to challenge himself to do it all, from top to bottom.

The results are a singular artistic vision.

More of this same effort and perspective is to come with future song releases for this album.

All I Want (Easy) was written by Mark Catalano.

He enlisted fancy-pants Grammy Award winning producer,

and the bassist of Tenacious D,

John Spiker to record this new single (and play bass).

Featuring Elliot Schwartzman on Organ

and Grant Jordan on Drums.

Written during the pandemic, out of frustration,

feeling like "Why does everything have to be so hard?!",

it's about the willingness to move forward in the face of these feelings,

and the hope that it'll be ok.

Mark’s newest single,

“El From LA”!

Written, Produced, Engineered, Mixed and Mastered by Mark Catalano

Mark Catalano - Vocals, Electric & Acoustic Guitars, Ukulele, Organ, Percussion

Featuring Elliot Schwartzman on Piano,

Kurtis Keber on Bass,

and Grant Jordan on Drums.

El from LA is a father’s love letter to his daughter. It’s a promise to always be there.

Beginning with a simple and sparse ukulele demo, Mark began gradually piecing together what would become a much more intricate arrangement.

After a late night tracking session with Kurtis Keber and Grant Jordan at Grant’s home studio, the basic tracks were cut live with no click, and the idea was really off and running.

Little by little, Mark overdubbed other tracks at his home studio, a piano take was added by Elliot Schwartzman, and slowly the idea came to life.

This song wouldn’t be complete without a shaker made for Mark by his daughter Ella, which you can hear in the second verse.
